Yay! I’m really excited about this. I love your reviews and commentary on entertainment and occasionally pop culture, so I’m looking forward to the myriad of possibilities of where you will take us.

Bless!

I assume Substack is offering something really good because a lot of people I read seem to be moving here. There's Matt Yglesias, Scott Alexander, Glenn Greenwald, all very recently. And a bit earlier even Andrew Sullivan opened a Substack column.

Anyway, so you ask if I will subscribe to one of the chillest guys on the internet? Never doubt it. And I'm never gonna let anyone ruin my video games.

Haha thanks. Actually, Substack doesn't offer anything really. Writers have the ability to offer premium subscriptions at various prices (of which Substack will take a cut). Once I get this up and rolling I'll offer that as an option for readers who'd like to support my work (most likely starting next month). I hope some do as I'd really love to get a little more independence and do more work like this. We shall see! Thanks for subscribing!

Hi and congratulations on your new endeavour! I discovered your writing due to my infatuation with TWD (until it literally lost the plot) and your excellent reviews of that show, and now others.

As people below have said, I’m also not a big commenter – well at least not on facebook -although I almost commented recently when you said you may start reviewing Bridgerton... I just wanted to say don't bother. Honestly it's so awful I'm actually embarrassed to let on that I watched it at all.

I did not realise you are such a festival goer… Have you been to Burning Man? I love to read articles about that festival - and others.

Oops meant to respond to this sooner...thanks for subscribing! I have not been to Burning Man (yet) but maybe someday. It sounds pretty wild!

Happy to subscribe. I really enjoy your reviews Erik, and your writing style. Congratulations on this next step!

This makes me very happy. I've followed you for a few years and was saddened when Forbes recently went the subscription route. Not an expense I can presently afford, so I split my 4 free monthly articles between you and Paul.

Your writing is smooth, reflective, and succinct. And you are somehow tapped directly into my own world view. Just recently I found myself getting carried away by the The Last of Us II train, and while I did enjoy playing the game, the story bothered me underneath, and I couldn't really articulate why. Then I came upon your comments addressing this exact thing and thought, "Yep. This is why I read this guy."

Looking forward to what you come up with here! :)

Like "A Momma's Pen", I stumbled upon your reviews of Vikings (which I miss - until Ragnar died) and really enjoyed them. I don't comment much either, but I enjoy your work. Peace and good health to you.

I stumbled upon your Game of Thrones reviews a few years back (damn, I miss that show) and have been a follower ever since. I appreciate your honesty, your efforts to connect, and your respect for others' opinions. I don't comment much but I do read a lot of your columns and look forward to following along on this diabolical journey of yours! Good luck!

Yeah I miss that show, too (well, the first six seasons anyways). Spin-offs can't come soon enough. Thanks!
