The Gamer always struck me as a pretty low-rent site anyway. When it comes to games "journalism," I guess the bar is so low because there's really no "accountability" as far as some other entity to keep tabs on them. The only interested parties that might do so are other gamers, and of course we can so easily be dismissed as *checks notes* the alt-right, Gamergate trolls, neck beard nerds or whatever else they want to label us.

Don't forget incels! That's the new trendy insult!

Are we all still incels? Dang, I thought we'd moved on from that one. I mean, I know we'll always be alt-right Nazi's, but crap...thought I'd graduated from incel-dom!

Sorry neckbeard, incels are even worse than Nazis. At least the Nazis could get laid.

Sigh. FIne, guess I'll move back into mom's basement and subsist on Cheeto's, Mountain Dew and greasy pizza.

Let them fuel your misogynist rage in our ongoing, yet deeply perplexing, quest to drive women out of video games something something something.

I'm gonna be honest I assumed you were all liberals with how butthurt you guys are about things.

Great piece! Games 'journalists' need to focus on being unbiased and objective, but as you said, everyone has seemingly drawn a line in the sand and are unwilling to budge. It really shouldn't be too much to ask that all of the facts are considered when writing an article.

Thanks! I just wish, even if people didn't change their minds, that we would see a bit more "ok Chris is saying his piece now, let's at least hear him out and see what's what" instead of this circling of the wagons.

Absolutely! The people that won't even consider a different opinion really need some deep introspection on why that's the case. They don't even have to agree, but at least hear the other side before forming an opinion.

I really think it's best to think of these folks (or at least a good many of them) in a religious sense. For fundamentalists, the narrative is everything. Facts are subservient to the message. Facts must be made to fit the message. If there is a dispute between facts and the message, then the message is correct and the facts will (somehow) ultimately lead to it.

Very savvy point. It is like a religious cult with all the zealotry you'd expect.

Everything I've ever read on The Gamer has been low-tier trash, even for a game site. I skip them like I skip Quora results.

I agree that this is one of the worst video game sites like, they said that Lopunny wasn't good when according to a more reliable source (Smogon) Lopunny was pretty good but it said that it was really good in ORAS, SM, and USUM because of Mega Lopunny.

Their articles are as trash as anything can get. Never have I seen anything even remotely good from them. They recruit the lowest of the low, which indicates how shallow their pockets are. Hell they can't even make a good clickbait! Not only those "JOURNASILTS" are trash at what they do but they are trash human beings too. One of them is STACEY HENLEY! She is so darn bad that I unfortunately can't forget the name.....
