Have you watched Gomorrah on HBOMAX? Best show out there

I don’t know. I’m definitely skipping the House of the Dragon spin-off. I mean, is there even the slightest chance that it’s going to be good? Isn’t the best we can hope for is “it’s ok, not as bad as I was worried it was going to be” which is the same as saying “it’s shit and ruined the franchise for me”? The moment has passed, we ought to let it go and wait for the Winds of Winter.

The Walking Dead is still making new episodes??? Are any of the the original cast members still there?

How are people liking Picard? I was thinking of giving that a shot.

And finally: Vikings has been sitting on my watchlist forever. Is it good? Fun historical fiction or modern American values wearing horned helmets?

First of all, "wait for Winds of Winter" seems a bit cruel. We're already waiting and the best thing we can do is stop caring. House of the Dragon could be quite good in the right hands, I think. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

Vikings (the original series) gets off to a bit of a rocky start, gets very good for a few seasons, and then trails off into bullshit. But it's very much worth your time up to that point. Definitely not "modern American values" at play. I can't speak for the spinoff yet.

Ok, next up is Vikings. I definitely heard somewhere that it was good - it ended up on my watchlist for some reason - and I love the period. Thanks.

I know, I know. GRRM either has totally lost interest in ASOIAF or else he reread his first draft of Winds of Winter and decided it sucked way too much to be released. Overall just not a good sign.

The big problem for me is that, me being me, I’m going to have to reread the whole series before I read WoW. A Dance with Dragons came out like ten years ago. I’ve definitely tried to reread the whole series since then, but the quality does start to dip a bit, and I’m not sure I ever reread Dance since it was released. I don’t remember any of it, and ASOIAF is all about close reading.
