Holy crap, that thing that McKeand wrote was just so bad. I actually laughed at your takedown of his argument. "A-HA! Finally those pesky journos fell for my 3+ year old trap and cancelled me! Now I can retire on Patreon monies!" *smokes cigar*

It made me mad until I realized how hilariously bad it was.

I can’t help but wonder if all this “controversy” is somewhat manufactured so as to garner clicks. The powers that be (for Troy: Warner Brothers) knew what kind of content he was creating and still hired him. Why don’t these people find, disclose and help remedy actual social ills like clothing the poor abs feeding the hungry? Those don’t get the clicks. Taking someone down a notch: yeah **** that guy! It’s like a video game in and of itself. Ugh.

I don't know that cancel culture is powerless since it gets people annoyed with the left and furthers the divide in this country. It's counterproductive if anything and it's probably a very vocal minority that has created it and given it power.

Dale Carnegie used to teach getting the other person to say “yes, yes” immediately. All Fox News has to do is ridicule the latest attempt to cancel something to get their viewers saying “yes, yes” immediately and then they can go into other points they want to make with their audience in an agreeable frame of mind.

I think it's powerless to achieve its stated goals, not powerless in the sense that it can't cause various problems and harm.

Why does the sjw crowd seem to have their voice way over-represented in the video game industry? I just find it a bit odd they haven’t gone after the tv and film industry which reaches a broader audience. Game devs should be either ignoring them or taking their protests with a grain of salt. Or is all this news just a struggle for clicks these days?
