I'm looking forward to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, a seemingly spiritual sequel to Nioh by the same team. It's next year but I'm quite interested. Didn't have time to play Nioh 2 yet either so there's also that.
I guess Elden Ring DLC is what I'm most looking forward to though. I've sunk unhealthy amounts of hours into ER so far and I'm still hungry for more. I hope they manage to maintain their usual DLC quality for this game, and foolishly I also hope for a 2022 release.
Oh I think it's very much more than a spiritual successor. It also has Masaaki Yamagiwa onboard who helped produce Bloodborne at Sony Japan Studio and it sounds like they're ditching the shitty Diablo style loot in favor of a more Souls-like approach.
You got me too worked up over the Marvel game by mentioning X-Com. X-Com 2 on Ironman was one of my favorite gaming experiences ever. It can't possibly live up to that.
As well as getting Total Warhammer 3 (maybe during a Sale, after the Immortal Empires update is released), and, one of these days, Cyberpunk 2077.
Of the stuff you listed, the Marvel x XCOM hybrid did catch my attention a while back, even if I've kinda lost interest in just about anything Disney/Marvel at this point. Will wait for reviews for that one.
God of War? Never played any of the games in the series, and while the previous game did look good/interesting, it's probably not for me (esp. since, compared to other titles, the asking price on Steam is kinda steep for me; I'd get more out of w/ Total Warhammer 3 at the same price, I think)
You’re welcome bro! I try not to get hyped over games anymore since CDPR dropped the ball with 2077 but I can’t help it with Callisto Protocol.
I’m with you on Joel. Dirty. Shame on ND, SHAME 🔔 SHAME 🔔 SHAME 🔔.
They’d be crazy to alter the story but I’m positive if Druckmann had the chance he’d retcon the original.
I get that, ER is a huge game. I had to take a little break with RE: Village for a couple days and now I’m back. ER is the first FromSoft game I’ve really got into and I’m loving it. Demon’s Souls remake is next.
I wasn’t too worried about GoW being delayed as there are some other games releasing around that timeframe like Callisto Protocol which I’m really looking forward to more tbh. TLOU I might purchase even though Druckmann and ND did my boy Joel dirty in Part II. I’m a bit concerned as well in regard to how different they made Ellie look but especially Joel. Hopefully they keep their word and don’t change anything in the story. As far as horror goes I’m a huge fan of horror movies and games. Scorn looks pretty (in a demented sort of way) but afaik they haven’t released gameplay yet so I’ll have to wait to make a judgement on that one. Plus I have a backlog piled up I need to get to and Elden Ring is a time suck, taking 200+ hours and I still haven’t finished my first run, GOTY that one.
Oh thanks for the reminder about Callisto Protocol!
I agree they did Joel dirty. Like very, very dirty. I'm not even against him dying, but the "how" and the "why" and the "when" were all bullshit. I also don't know if I trust ND to keep their word, though they'd be CRAZY to alter the story. But yeah, Joel looking so much different irks me bigly.
Elden Ring is amazing. I have close to that much time but I've been sitting on the final boss and it's like I have gamer's block or something I just have no motivation to beat it.

All the more reason to look forward to it in that case! I also thought the Diablo loot in Nioh felt kind of annoying.
Also, I guess if I'm not talking 2022 anyway, I may as well mention Dragon's Dogma 2. I'm pretty hopeful about that one.

Ha probably not. But it's looking pretty cool!
I'm looking forward to Homeworld 3.

I definitely think you should play God Of War. Maybe keep your eyes peeled for a sale?

Take care dude, I dig reading your articles.
Ah, Demon's Souls is *so damn good* I'm excited you're going to play it soon. The remake is breathtaking.
Yep. Demon's Souls is crazy good. When I finally break down and buy a PS5 it will be solely to play the remake.
