I agree that the “twist” was awful. It made no sense and added nothing at all.

For some reason, though, the VIPs are the ones that drove me nuts. It was so jarring when they turned up and started talking in exaggerated American accents. And my GOD their dialogue was terrible. It felt like it was written by the screenwriter for Manos: Hand of Fate.

Your proposal would have been so much better - leave them masked an mysterious, barely even show them, leave the mystery for next season. Even leaving their scenes aside, their STORY made no sense. Why were they even masked? They all knew each other at least somewhat, right? They all definitely knew the old guy - they were all former clients. Unless I missed something?

I really liked the show, but it has the problem of whether it’s worth recommending when the back quarter of it is much worse than the first 75%

1. Yep, it is silly and look more like Communist China propaganda than something you expect from Korea. The western corruption. Korea has some of the more powerful companies in the world, so why just foreigners?

2. Agree. There is no interaction with the main plot, no change or interest.

3. This sound to me like something that should have been done by two separate characters.

It makes sense to pretend the character died from the point of view of the last revelation; but it doesn't make sense to revive and create a bad guy from one guy you became to love and miss.

It is in one hand a matter of point of views when building the story. It is not wrong or bad writting per se, but it was an inferior option.
