What is this place?

diabolical is a mostly evil newsletter about politics, culture and the media with a focus on the politics of art and entertainment, free speech and the culture wars.

I consider my politics to be eclectic—not easy to pin down, but nonetheless coherent. If you want to talk about politics and society and art from a different perspective, if you care about freedom of expression and critical thinking, if you are tired of all the tribalistic bullshit you find in so many corners of the internet—I think you’ll like it here. Maybe you should subscribe!

Why join the Evil Army?

If you want to support my work—independent journalism and criticism unshackled from the chains of corporate media, unattached to any political movement, and unafraid to call out noxious, censorious bastards and crooked slime bags, I hope you’ll consider signing up for a premium subscription.

Paid subscribers will gain access to premium articles and discussions several times a month, though I hope to keep as much of my content free as possible. I’ve also begun the diabolical podcast and run a YouTube channel that ties into both my newsletters.

You can also check out my other newsletter fantasticalwhere I review and discuss video games, movies, TV shows and books.

Stay up-to-date (and really, really ridiculously good-looking).

Subscribing means you’ll get every new post in your inbox like clockwork thanks to the miracle of modern technology. Direct from me to you like magic. And I’m told that subscribing to a good newsletter provides natural beauty and longevity, among many other rather wicked benefits.

I write about entertainment, culture and politics and why it's so important to speak up for freedom of expression. Video games, TV shows, movies, music and more.
